San Diego La JollaLa Jolla, San Diego is located 4 miles (6km) north of San Diego’s Mission Bay.   La Jolla, San Diego is an elegant, upscale coastal resort town set amid beautiful cliffs and coves. The most scenic is the La Jolla Cove and the Ellen Browning Scripps Park (at Boomer Beach). The La Jolla cove is a terrific sport for swimmers. If you are there in Summer, the beach can be crowed and with full of activities.

Along this stretch of Coast Boulevard, you can see California’s finest coastal scenery and activities ranging from swimming, sunning, picnicking, barbecuing, reading and strolling are commonplace. South of Cost Boulevard, is the Children’s Pool Beach.  At this beach, you are able so spot dozens of harbor seals lazing in the sun.

The town of La Jolla, San Diego has many upscale shops and restaurants. Along thesan diego la jolla streets, you can find gourmet chocolatiers, designer clothe shops, and top-name jewelers. san diegoThe Old Town San Diego Park serves as a way to recreate life in both the early American and early Mexican era of 1821 - 1872.  It is situated four miles north of San Diego city center and the park helps to recreate what was once San Diego.  When you are in California, you are encourage to make a trip to Old Town San Diego to make your trip complete.

Around the five adobes of the main complex, there are shops, a museum, and several restaurants.  Around the garden courtyard, the La Casa mansion helps to bring back a taste of the Old Town.  Just a short hop from there, the museum is full of artifacts that help to reflect on the life that was once the Old Town. Other historical building of interest includes Colorado House and Mason Street School which dates from 1866.

The Old Town also has a blacksmith shop, schoolhouse, and several other historic buildings, including the first newspaper office in San Diego.  The newspaper was first published in 1868.   This is truly a place to visit, especially for those who are interested to learn more about the history of San Diego.

The city of San Diego was the first Spanish settlement in California.  This occurred when a fort and mission were established in 1769.  Back in 1769, California was just beginning to get established, therefore it wasn’t near the state nor the size that it is today.

San Diego remains the oldest port on the West Coast, complete with a well known Naval Base and a high level of tourism.  San Diego city continues to dominate the economy.

In San Diego, you will experience high mountains, deserts, and over 70 miles of the world’s most renowned beaches.  In addition, you can find other interesting attractions in San Diego such as the Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, and Wild Animal Park.

On the softer side, San Diego also offers a lot for art lovers. You can find many different museums and even the Shakespearean play at the Old Globe Theater. If you need to have a golf swing while in San Diego, it has more championship golf courses than any other area in the world. 

If you need to visit a city today for a tour, San Diego is one place you should seriously consider.  San Diego is a place you will never find boring.

San Diego can be reached by plane.  Flights will arrive at the San Diego International Airport. The airport is also called Lindbergh Field, named after aviation hero Charles Lindbergh.  The airport is situated 2 miles northwest of downtown San Diego.
