Toronto time zone. Canada is divided into six time zones. They are: Newfoundland standard Time (NST); Atlantic Standard Time (AST); Eastern Standard Time (EST); Central Standard Time (CST); Mountain standard Time (MST); and Pacific Standard Time (PST). Toronto time zone is on Eastern Standard Time. It practices daylight saving from April to October. So, when you plan for your Toronto vacation, pay careful attention to the Toronto time zone in your planning. IF you are new to it, it can be confused at first. But you will get use to it eventually.
Toronto subway. Moving around in the city of Toronto is conveniently done by using the Toronto subway. The advantage of using the Toronto subway is fast, clean and very simple to use. As traffic in downtown Toronto is so congested, this gives you more reason to make use of the Toronto subway system. There are two major lines, and the LRT system connects downtown Toronto to Harbourfront. The Toronto subway stops at most major attractions and this will cut down your traveling time and you will be able to cover more places of interest.
Air Canada Centre. Air Canada Centre is Toronto’s newest sports and entertainment complex. It is home to the Maple leafs (hockey) and the Raptors (basketball). Air Canada Centre has a seating capacity of 18,700 for hockey, 19,500 for basketball, and 20,000 for concerts. There is a one-hour tour of the complex, but it is better to make a call to make sure that the tour is on as the tours may cancel due to events. The Air Canada Centre is located at 40 Bay St (at Lakeshore Blvd.)
Toronto public library. The Toronto public library, or the Toronto Reference Library is located at 789 Yonge St. This architectural masterpiece is designed by Toronto architect Raymond Moriyama. This is a wonderful plae to visit. Take the Toronto subway to Bloor.
Toronto zoo. The Toronto Zoo is on the outskirts of Toronto having a size of 284 hectares of parkland. The Toronto Zoo houses some 5,000 animals and extensive botanical collections. One of Toronto Zoo’s most popular attractions is the African Savanna. Over here, you can experience special features such as bush camp, rhino midden, elephant highway, and several watering holes. There is also the Gorilla Rainforest. This is the largest indoor gorilla exhibit in North America. If you bring along your kids, they will love the Splash Island. This is a kids-only water park which they can see the replica of a Canadian Coast Guard ship. In the Toronto Zoo, walkways of up to ten kilometers were built to provide access to all areas of the zoo. In summer, where the weather in Toronto is good, Zoomobile will take take visitors around the major walkways to view animals in the outdoor paddocks.
Toronto new years eve. If you intent to celebrate new years eve in Toronto, the event is the First Night Toronto and New Year’s Eve at City Hall. The first Night is an alcohol-free family New Year’s Eve celebration. There are also a variety of musical, theatrical, and dance performances at downtown areas. Notably, Toronto new years eve is celebrated in Nathan Square concerts begin at around 10pm to usher in the countdown to the New Year.
Toronto Hotels. Toronto Hotels are aplenty and you will easily find one that will suit you. Toronto theatre. It will be interesting to visit a Toronto theatre for some musical or show. Toronto theatres are top-notched. Toronto Symphony Orchestra is world renowned. Some Toronto theatre to visit are; Canon Theatre Toronto, The Distillery Historic District, The Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre, Princess of Wales TheatrRoyal Alexandra Theatre, etc.. Toronto opera to consider are; Canadian Opera Company, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, Toronto Symphony Orchestra etc..

Another great sight in Toronto that you should not miss is Georgian Bay Ontario, a picturesque waterscape with its row of pine-filled islands. The Georgian Bay Ontario is so large that it is almost like a lake within a lake. It lies at the heart of Lake Huron. If is a nice place to visit when you are in Toronto.
